Location

The Quarry Shop and Café are situated in the main street in Machynlleth, which is a busy historic market town in the beautiful Dyfi valley.

Machynlleth is well served by an eclectic mix of independent shops and on Wednesdays hosts the 700 year old street market. It is also home to the Tabernacle Museum of Modern Art which has a wide display of contemporary art and an auditorium for plays and musical events.

The surrounding countryside is perfect for walking, with the Glyndwr's Way National Trail passing through the town and bike riding, as the trans Wales long distance route also passes through Machynlleth. It is now one of the seven national centres for mountain biking.

The beaches at Aberdyfi or Ynyslas are only a 20 mins drive or train ride and the RSPB bird reserve at Ynyshir is situated nearby.

You can reach Machynlleth by train via Shrewsbury or by car leaving the M54 motorway and following the route through Welshpool or approaching by the M56 in the north or M4 in the south. There is a large car park in the town centre and the train station is a five minute walk from the centre.
