From JANUARY 2018 – JUNE 2018

We are looking to recruit two long term volunteers who have an interest in gardening.

These roles will be working in both our organic growing gardens and also the design gardens across the site and learning skills and gaining knowledge in horticulture.

From MARCH 2018 – AUGUST 2018

We are looking for one or two volunteers who have an interest in working in our Woodlands Management team. These roles will give an insight into woodlands and habitat management as well as our water resources and provide valuable support to the Woodlands and Natural Resources team.

Closing date 31st January 2018.

All long term volunteers will come for a trial week prior to commencing the 6 month programme.Don’t forget for long term volunteers you will qualify for a free short course at CAT and a second course at half price.

This autumn we have only limited availability for long term volunteers from September. Please apply using the volunteer application form. Please read all of the information on the website relating to the long term volunteer scheme before applying.

However for short term volunteers there is the option of paying a £10 daily charge to cover food and food and accommodation (normally up to four weeks). There are also day volunteer options and we will pay travel expenses and provide a free lunch in our Vegetarian Cafe.

Limited Accommodation is available on site for long term volunteers but it is supplied on a first come first serve basis. Short Term Volunteers is subject to availability at the times requested.  If we have no accommodation available, you would be responsible for finding a place to stay although CAT would be happy to advise you on local accommodation.

The Woodland Trail Team

In this role, you will help CAT to maintain a 2km trail in and around the current visitor centre, through the woodlands, old quarry and gardens. The trail will showcase the areas natural environment, habitats, wildlife and history. It will also provide education on sustainable land-use and management.

The Sustainable Woodland Team

This team cultivates and manages CAT’s woodland (including all of its wonderful flora and fauna!) and produces a range of exciting wooden and charcoal based items for our giftshop.

The Organic Gardens Team

Drawing on our head gardeners 40 years of pesticide free growing experience, our gardens team create incredible displays for our visitors alongside growing the produce to be cooked in our vegetarian restaurant.
